Luca Mampieri was born in Rome on May 16, 1979. He has been living in the capital his whole life and he has fallen in love with sport in general at a very young age. In 2003, he enrolled in college and became a Physical Education student at the Foro Italico University in Rome, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2006 and a master’s degree in Science and Techniques of Sports Activities two years later. Eventually, in 2012, he became a doctor in Science of Sports, Physical Exercise and Ergonomics, concluding in this way a brilliant college career.
He started collaborating with CONI already in 2004, and then moved to basketball where he managed the physical training in a team sport for Eurobasket Roma. In 2009 he met coach Enrico Sellan, and thanks to him he was introduced to the world of tennis, and this partnership led him to join the Rome Tennis Academy project. He believes in the circularity of theory and practice and in the exchange of ideas among specialists.
