Vincenzo Santopadre was born in Rome on August 11, 1971. His relationship with tennis began when he was 8 years old and he was knocking up against the wall at Sant’Agnese Tennis Club, the club his parents and his sisters were attending. After came the first tennis course, the tournaments, the Italian junior individual and team championships, always putting school first. Only years later, after finishing high school – the day after the 1990 football World Cup Final to be exact – his career as a professional tennis player began.
In his career he reached the best ranking, being number 100 in world ranking, he played Davis Cup, he beat two top ten players at the Italian Open, winning five individual Challenger, the double at ATP Challenger in Tashkent with Vince Spadea and also the Mediterranean Games in both categories.
Then, another career began, a career as coach with the qualification of National Trainer and the role of manager of Circolo Canottieri Aniene’s Tennis School, with whom he won the Italian first league (Serie A1) as player and team captain. Trainer of Flavio Cipolla e Nastassja Burnett, who, under his wing, reached respectively number 70 and number 121 in world ranking, Vincenzo Santopadre is now the great guide of the young Matteo Berrettini, one of the best 80 ATP players.
